Throughout the year, we report on the good and bad things happening in and around the print and digital publishing world. Sometimes the stories offer true inspiration, while other times they make us and our readers cringe. But that’s business.
What’s always consistent in what we report is simple: the people. Without the people in our industry, what we do here would be unnecessary and frankly irrelevant. The brands, the stories, the exciting new trends and innovation that’s happening wouldn’t be possible without smart, dedicated people committing themselves to their vocations. And that’s why it is always an honor and a privilege for us to announce our annual Folio: 100 and Rising Stars classes.
Both programs celebrate the very best in our business. The 100 shines a spotlight on those who have truly made a significant impact on their company or the industry at large. While the Rising Stars are emerging as the future leaders of our industry, and those who are responsible for providing hope and comfort that our businesses will live on much longer than our own careers.
It would be trite to say that this year’s lists are the best we’ve ever composed, so I won’t. However, I will say both are tremendous testaments to the strength of our industry. They are comprised of thought leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and most important: people who get shit done.
I encourage you to take a look at this year’s list, and acknowledge the folks who are figuratively keeping the lights on in our industry. If you see a colleague or a peer on the list, congratulate them. They deserve it.
Full bios of each honorees will be published ahead of our celebratory luncheon on October 31. However, we couldn’t wait that long to share the list of this year’s honorees.
